Chicama is considered the longest left on earth. The wave has many barrel sections and on a good day can connect for over a mile. The area also has high swell consistency with good exposure to south swells during our summer months while also picking up north swells during our winter that track south after hitting Hawaii. The trade winds in Chicama keep the wind offshore nearly every day for frequently unforgettable conditions. All this, and for Chicama Surf Resort patrons, boat shuttles are available to pick you up in the water after a long wave and drop you back at the point conditions permitting (boat tow back is now included in all new 2010 prices).

The next point just to the south of Chicama is called the Cape and when the surf is smaller, the Cape is very exposed and holds good swell with waves that will connect for up to a kilometer. The Cape is accessible by boat or by foot. Day trips are also available through the resort to waves such as Huanchaco, Poemape, and Pacasmayo for an extra charge of $20 for the day per person. Huanchaco is know for its heavy beach break waves. Poemape is a heavier lefthand pointbreak known for its juice and Pacasmayo is another lefthand pointbreak known for its long, speedy walls and is second in length only to Chicama.

Chicama Surf Resort provides deluxe accommodations on the cliff overlooking the wave. There are 20 double rooms with private baths which can be converted into triples for groups of three. The rooms are very spacious and overlook the surf. The resort has an exceptional chef, and all meals are provided so you will get a good sampling of Peruvian cuisine along with standard favorites. Chicama Surf Resort also has an onsite spa containing a pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, workout room, and massage services daily (massages not included in price). Chicama is located about 45 minutes from the city of Trujillo. This area is considered one of the driest places on earth just west of the Peruvian Andes. The landscape is very unique with rugged outcroppings, sand dunes, and oases located around the city with the Andes as the backdrop.

Many activities besides surfing are available through the resort for an additional charge. There are world famout ruins such as Chan Chan and the Temple of the Sun and Moon that can be done as a day trip. Horseback riding, ATVs, and many other activities can also be arranged through the resort.
