Apartment in Madrid

Madrid is indeed a great place to stay. In fact, we would spend our Christmas there and I can’t wait for it. Yet we are still looking for an apartment in Madrid which is located nearby the city center, maybe you could recommend one? And I would appreciate if the apartment you suggest would be affordable for at least a month to stay.

We spent the Christmas to New Year's holidays in Madrid a couple of years ago. We rented an apartment through VRBO that was right off the Puerto del Sol. It was a great location that was walking distance to most attactions. Anyplace that we couldn't walk to was accesible by metro which was right there.

We took the AVE high speed train to Toledo for an overnight trip. It was very easy to do this on our own, and we enjoyed the trip. I think the AVE took about 45 minutes from Madrid to Toledo and it was an experience in itself. We took the bus to Segovia for the day which was also easy once we found the bus station. There were good directions to the station on either this board, TripAdvisor, or Madridman - I don't remember which one but you can do a search and find them.
