|

i have been shopping around for a new 4/3 suit for central cal. Im trying to find some non bias info, every shop i go to says their suits are the best... which is too be expected i assume. but i have been looking at a few different brands and trying to stay around $300 if not less. Ive been looking at xcel, body glove, hurley, rip curl, and oniell.
I had one sales rep tell me xcel suits are extremely comfortable and warm but their life will not be much longer then 6 months. can anyone vouch for that? doesnt seem right...
I was looking at a Hurley Icon, the sales rep said it was just as good as a xcel or hotline suit but it was only like $160 because they have them made in inidia or something... but that price just seems too cheap for it to be a good suit
I tried on a rip curl f-bomb today, thing was a bitch to get on but felt great once i got it on.
Tomorrow im gonna go try on the oniel mutant, i know nothing of this suit but heard it was pretty good for the price of 280. anyone know anything on that?
other then that, body glove looks kinda expensive but dont know too much about that.
so if anyone has any opinions, recommendations, or info on any of those suits, it would be great
thanks guys

| My favorite is the F-Bomb. I have also tried on the psycho 2 but found it a bit more restrictive. |

Just got an O'Neill Heat 4/3 for $180.00, normally retails for $239.99. Haven't taken her out yet, but I bet she's toasty. This will be my fourth O'Neill wetsuit. I like 'em fine, although I was tempted by an Excel...
I'd stay away from Body Glove myself. Poor workmanship, etc. _________________ A bad day surfing is better than a good day working. |

I tried on as many 4/3 wetsuits as I could before I settled on the quicksilver cell. It just happened to fit me the best at the time. I really liked the O'Neill 3/2 heat for the price, but the 4/3 version seemed too restrictive for me personally. Actually, all of the 4/3 top-entry suits (excel, mutant, body glove...) were too hard to get into and out of for my taste. The short zipper of the cell was a good comprimise for me.
I've been using it about 5 days a week for about a month now and it's starting to stretch out slightly, but maybe I just notice it more now since the waves have been getting bigger and stronger and I'm getting knocked around a bit more. It's plenty warm for me and I'm one that gets cold pretty easily. My hands are the only thing cold in this suit. I stayed out for 3 hours on xmas and I got out not because I was cold, but because I couldn't physically paddle anymore! |

I have to say I have tryed many suits in my time and I have been surfing for 20 years. I am tired of spending $300 To $400 dollors on a suit and only get 6 months to maybe a year out of it.
I came across this brand of suit called Hyperflex. I was not to sure of the suit cause I have never seen it befor. I took a chance and I now swear by it. The 4/3 is under two hundred and it's very warm, comfortable, and very flexable. I feel it's worth the money and you save lot's. I think companys have gotten out of controll with there pricess and I think I have found a company thats finally got it right. _________________ Bill

| When looking for a wetsuit, rash guard, or any swim wear you can actually test it on the store by checking on if it deflates slowly then it's all good but there might be problems if it deflates quickly. |
