Our Mission
We built this site and the Local Surf Communities on this site to provide a free resource for surfers around the world to exchange ideas, gear, and find local information for surf vacations and travel. In addition to our Surf Communities, we aim to offer the finest surf packages and travel products as part of SurfingList Travel from areas we have visited and recommend to our friends.
Navigation
The local sites provide a filter so everything linked to that page is from that local area as well as any surf vacations we recommend and are selling to that local area. The main home page is a worldwide resource with no local filter.
Travel at SurfingList.com
We offer full service travel to a growing number of surfing destinations worldwide. We can provide you lowest cost flights, ground transportation, and bookings for a variety of surfing trips / vacations. These are surf trips and destinations we have travelled to and each of these trips are recommended by us. Our online store also aims at providing the necessities for your surf travel. We hope you enjoy these surf trips as much as we have!
Creating an Account
All accounts on SurfingList.com are free. To create an account, start by following the Register link, complete the form, and activate the account by clicking the link sent to you in your email.
Posting to SurfingList.com
Please post your gear (used surfboards, wetsuits, etc.), surfing related businesses (rentals, guiding, lessons, etc.), travel information and accommodations (for the local areas on the site), surf breaks (please no secret local breaks), local surfing events, and surfing related links to SurfingList.com using the links on the Home Page. Normal non-business related postings will remain on the site for 60 days. Surf Business and Travel postings will remain on the site indefinitely. If you login prior to creating a posting, it will be placed in your account and can be managed via the website.
Activating, Editing and Deleting your Postings
Postings can be made without becoming a member. You will be emailed a link that will be required to activate your posting. This same link can be used to edit or delete your posting as well so hang on to that email. If you want to be able to manage all of your postings (edit / delete) from an account on SurfingList.com, you will need to login before making your postings. If you do this before creating a posting, the posting will be put into your account. You will then have the ability to manage your postings (edit / delete) by following the My Stuff link from most pages on the site when you are logged in.
Discussion Forums
The Discussion Forums are available for local community and worldwide discussions. Please use these forums for travel information, product reviews, trash talking, and whatever else you can think of. If you have any ideas for topics, please let us know by sending us an email.
Surf Videos, Slideshows, and Photo Albums
The Surf Videos page contains short videos we liked and found in different places on the internet. If you have any recommendations, please send them over. The Slideshows page contains slideshows from trips we have taken and are mainly photos taken by the staff and friends. If you would like any short videos or photo slideshows you created / took to be posted to the site, please send us an email and we will check out your content to see if it will work well on our site. We will give you the author / photographer credit for your work. Personal / Private and Public photo albums are also available on the site. To get there, follow the Photos link from the header bar. For personal albums, you will need to create your album and then can specify whether it is private or public by going and Modifying your album. To upload photos, simply click on upload file from the menu and specify which photos you want to upload. You will next be asked to specify which album you want the photos to belong to and whether you want to input a title and description. Admin approval (usually hapens within 24-48 hrs.) of all public photos is required so the photos won't appear immediately. Please do not upload any pornographic photos as they will be removed and you will be barred from the site.
