Quiksilver Saquarema Prime starts on Tuesday: 20 May, 2013 : - PRIME: The Quiksilver Saquarema Prime presented by Coca-Cola, takes palce May 21-26. 96 surfers from 17 different countries are confirmed to do battle for points qualifying for the 2014 WCT. Half of the WCT surfers that competed in Rio will remain in Brazil to compete at one of the best waves in the country, including Bell's Beach champion Adriano de Souza, Gabriel Medina, Nat Young, Adrian Buchan and defending champ Matt Wilkinson along with many other surfers from Hawaii, France, South Africa, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Tahiti, Ireland, Morocco, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Peru, Canary Islands and Guadeloupe.
VIDEO & Images: Billabong Rio Pro final Day: 20 May, 2013:- VIDEO: Jordy Smith won the Billabong Rio Pro over favourite Adriano de Souza displaying an incredible variety of technical airs and turns in the Final. Smith’s run to the final was nothing short of amazing as he defeated dangerous rookie Filipe Toledo, and two-time ASP World Champion Mick Fanning en route to the Final. Smith attributed the success to his ability to adapt to both his competitors and the ever-changing conditions of Barra Da Tijuca.
